Longview has been fluoridating its water for over 60 years, with an annual cost of approximately $0.38 per resident each year. Our community reaps significant health and financial benefits.

• Scientific evidence confirms that fluoridation benefits children and adults, preventing cavities and lowering dental care costs.

• Communities that ended fluoridation faced higher dental costs, especially hurting low-income families. In Cowlitz County, where 29% lack dental insurance and preschool decay rates exceed state averages, ending fluoridation would hit vulnerable residents hardest.​​
